Will you be our technical connection between customer requirements and innovative (indoor) cultivation systems?

At Green Simplicity, we are responsible for the design, technical integration, and performance assurance of systems within international indoor farming projects. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Lead Engineer – indoor farming.

As Lead Engineer, you will have full technical responsibility for this scope within projects. You will operate within operations and take independent ownership of design, engineering, technical decision-making, and quality assurance.

For larger multiscope projects, integral project planning, contractual responsibility, budget management, and customer delivery are the responsibility of the main contractor within GreenV. Within these projects, you are the technical owner for lighting and climate systems and the primary point of contact for the main contractor. You independently monitor content, coordination between disciplines, delivery, and performance of the installations.

You prioritize work within your scope, monitor progress and quality, and coordinate with engineers and project managers from other disciplines.

For projects that Green Simplicity sells directly to the end customer, you will not only be responsible for the technical aspects, but also act as project manager and customer contact person.

What's the job about?

Technical ownership

• Responsibility for indoor and vertical farming concepts within projects
• Establishing and monitoring design principles and performance requirements
• Defining and monitoring technical interfaces with the various disciplines
• Ensuring technical integration between all (sub)systems

Engineering & coordination

• Content coordination with engineers and project leaders within or outside the group

• Performing basic engineering

• Review and approve detailed engineering

• Reviewing design changes within scope

Project interface

• Technical point of contact for the main contractor
• Monitoring project budget within Green Simplicity
• Support with implementation, installation, and start-up
• Verifying system performance during and after commissioning
• Project manager and point of contact for the customer's own Green Simplicity projects

What do you bring to the table?

• HBO/WO working and thinking level (mechanical engineering, climate technology, electrical engineering, or systems engineering)
• At least 5 years of experience in multidisciplinary projects
• Experience with HVAC, control engineering, and/or electrical engineering
• Strong analytical skills and systems thinking
• Independent decision-making and accustomed to taking ownership
• Clear communication in Dutch and English
• Willing to travel abroad several times a year
