At Beyond Chrysant, Green Simplicity installed an LED lighting system in two existing growing tiers of the propagation room. The solution supports the uniform development of young chrysanthemums and provides greater control over growing conditions. By integrating the lighting into the existing growing environment and using software control, the system fits seamlessly into the daily workflow. Smart integration of LED technology into existing growing systems
Beyond Chrysant specializes in developing strong and uniform chrysanthemums. With this vision in mind, the company sought a way to further optimize the propagation process and gain greater control over the conditions in which young plants develop.
Our solution:
To achieve this, Green Simplicity installed an LED system in two existing growing tiers of the propagation room. The goal was not only to add extra light, but above all to develop a system that aligns with existing practices and contributes to the crop’s consistent growth.
Light as a control tool in seedling production
The seedling stage largely determines the quality of the crop at a later stage. It is precisely during this stage that uniformity, root development, and growth rate are of great importance.
By adding LED lighting to both the lower and upper layers of the grow chamber, Beyond Chrysant can better control the available light and support the crop when natural conditions require it. This provides greater control over the growth process and reduces the impact of external factors.
A solution tailored to the existing growing environment
For this project, Green Simplicity designed two different LED solutions tailored to the characteristics of both growing layers. In doing so, the team considered not only light intensity but also light distribution, available space, and the existing infrastructure within the propagation room.
The fixtures are positioned to ensure even light distribution across the crop. As a result, plants throughout the entire section experience similar conditions, which contributes to uniform growth.
An important part of this project was the integration with the company’s existing systems.
The LED system is designed to be integrated into the existing control system of HT Verboom. This allows the lighting system to be integrated into the existing software environment and ensures it is compatible with the other processes in the grow room.
Result
With the new LED system, Beyond Chrysant has additional tools to manage the propagation process and support the development of young plants.
The combination of even light distribution, a carefully designed light spectrum, and integration with existing systems provides greater control over the growing conditions. As a result, the system helps ensure consistent quality and uniform development of the chrysanthemums.
