Flexible research environment for tropical crops, featuring fully controllable climate chambers for parallel trials and crop optimization.

The central question for this project was how to create a flexible and fully controlled research environment for a tropical crop. The goal was to conduct multiple trials in parallel under precisely reproducible conditions. Using an integrated setup of mobile climate chambers, Green Simplicity developed a solution that allows for the precise control of all relevant growth factors.

Experimental setup for controlled cultivation

Conducting reliable research requires complete control over growing conditions. This is especially true for tropical crops, where even minor variations in climate or light can directly affect the results. The challenge was to create an environment in which different experimental setups could run side by side without influencing one another.

Integrated solution with mobile climate chambers

Green Simplicity installed a configuration of four 40-foot mobile climate cells, designed to function as a single integrated system. Together with Stolze the entire system has been assembled and technically configured. Each cell can be controlled completely independently, allowing for room-specific settings for climate, lighting, and other growth variables.

This setup allows for the precise configuration of various growing conditions and enables direct comparison between them. This makes it possible to specifically target optimal growing conditions and quickly gain insights from the various trials.

De volledige installatie is gekoppeld aan Priva BlueID software, which centrally controls and monitors all processes.

Result

The result is a scalable research environment in which multiple experiments can be conducted in parallel under fully controlled conditions. All relevant growth variables can be precisely adjusted for each climate chamber, ensuring consistent and reliable results.

This setup provides a solid foundation for further research and future expansion of the crop.
