Advanced multi-layer cultivation space, delivered turnkey in the USA

The Plant Company, USA, wanted to expand with an innovative greenhouse solution where sustainability, efficiency and quality were paramount. Together with our partners from GreenV, Green Simplicity realized a vertical farm with a fully automated multi-layer propagation space, providing The Plant Company with a sustainable solution for high-quality plant cultivation.

Future-proof greenhouse solution

The Plant Company is a modern ornamental plant grower in Virginia (USA) and is known for their innovative and sustainable approach. For the expansion, they were looking for a future-proof greenhouse solution that combines efficiency, quality and scalability. Green Simplicity was asked to develop a fully automated propagation space in which multiple cultivation layers can be optimally managed.

Our solution:

Green Simplicity delivered a turnkey cultivation space of 4,000 m2 in total,², divided over two climate cells. This indoor / vertical farm is equipped with three cultivation layers, full climate and light control, four heat pumps, automated conveyors, spraybooms for irrigation and misting and an adjustable LED installation. The complete system is monitored and controlled via integrated software and the entire cultivation process can be influenced very precisely.

Collaboration with strong partners

The two integrated climate cells of 2,000 m2 each² were the largest project of Green Simplicity in the United States to date. We built this advanced greenhouse together with our partners of GreenV: HT Verboom Transportsystemen, Stolze, Prins Group, Prins USA and Voshol Warmte-Elektrotechniek. Our partner Wagenaar Refrigeration B.V. was also involved in the implementation.
