Yasai from Zurich wanted to be able to control the temperature and humidity per\ncultivation layer within their vertical farm for the cultivation of their fresh herbs. Green\nSimplicity developed an advanced climate system for this that could be integrated into\ntheir existing cultivation setup.<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vertical farm from Switzerland, for the production of herbs<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Yasai is a vertical farm from Switzerland that focuses on the production of fresh herbs such as mint, basil, coriander and dill. They wanted to be able to control the climate conditions per cultivation layer within the existing, daylight-free cultivation setup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

Our solution:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Green Simplicity realized a fully integrated climate system for the vertical farm of Yasai. We started with 775 m22<\/sup>. Due to the success of this, the installation was expanded to the entire vertical farm. The system, the Dry+ Climate, is custom-made and regulates both the temperature and the humidity very precisely per cultivation layer and ensures an even air distribution in the space. This makes a stable and uniform greenhouse climate possible for each layer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Smart air distribution with air distribution boxes<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The system is fully integrated into the existing Yasai installation. The ductwork, both the supply and discharge of air and the air distribution hoses, are very precisely incorporated into the existing construction. In this way, a uniform air distribution has been achieved per layer without this being at the expense of homogeneity at plant level. Furthermore, the specially designed air distribution cabinets are connected to the central heating and cooling network. The complete control takes place in these cabinets: from air displacement to dehumidification, cooling and possible heating. In addition, an extra heating block has been installed in the ductwork in each cultivation layer. This allows the temperature and humidity to be controlled very precisely per layer in order to achieve the right climate per plant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Continuous insight into consumption and performance<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The climate and air distribution are also tailored to the different crops. After all, each crop and phase requires a certain air speed. By varying air distribution hoses and amount of air movement, a suitable microclimate has been created in each cultivation lane. The flexible container system brings the cultivation tables to the right zones, making efficient and continuous production possible in one cultivation space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

High-tech climate system at plant level<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This installation is one of Green Simplicity's most advanced climate projects. Thanks to the smart integration in an existing vertical farm, precise control per layer and continuous monitoring, Yasai now has maximum control over the cultivation process to ensure the high quality of their herbs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
